2022 Ford Escape Updates and Redesigns
The automaker adds a new drivetrain option for the higher trim level of the new Ford Escape. Now, it comes with optional 2.0 L turbocharged engine which offers more power. In addition to it, it also provides quick acceleration for better performance.
Inside, the new Escape is well-equipped with high-tech features. It packs Sync 3 infotainment, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Moreover, it also gets responsive steering and carlike handling around turns.
Exterior and Interior
There are three trim levels offered for the 2022 Escape. Those are S, SE, and Titanium. The standard compact crossover SUV rides on 17-inch steel wheels. Also come standard on the base model are Led taillights, automatic headlights, MyKey parental controls, and a tilt-telescoping steering wheel.
Inside, the Escape S comes standard with a 4.2-inch central display, a Sync tech interface with AppLink smartphone integration and Bluetooth connectivity. Besides those, the automaker also provides a six-speaker sound system with a CD player as well as a USB port.
As for the 2022 Ford Escape SE, it rides on 17-inch alloy wheels; which are optional on Escape S. The SE comes standard with front side windows, rear privacy glass, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air vents, upgraded cloth upholstery, and many more.
As for the safety features, every Escape comes standard with antilock disc brakes, a driver knee airbag, full-length side curtain airbags, front-seat side airbags, and traction and stability control. For Escape SE, there is the Technology package which adds a blind-spot warning system with cross-traffic alerts. In addition to it, additional options are also available including lane-departure warning and intervention and forward collision alert.
Under the Hood
For the drivetrain, the automaker equips the new Ford Escape with front-wheel and all-wheel drive to choose from. Every trim gets different engine under the hood. Even so, all engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The base Escape S is powered by a 2.5 L four-cylinder engine. Then, powering the SE and Titanium is the new turbocharged 1.5 L four-cylinder; capable of producing 179 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque.
The 2022 Ford Escape SE and Titanium also comes with optional drivetrain. That is the 2.0 L turbocharged four-cylinder. The engine is capable of making 245 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. Further, the automaker predicts that this choice might be the favorite for 2022.
