The new 2022 Chevy Corvette has been received a lot of attention from car enthusiasts. The reason behind it is because reports are saying that the new ride will pack heritage package inspired by the original Grand Sport. Besides that, the new Chevy Corvette is also considered more affordable than its rivals.
2022 Chevy Corvette Update and Redesign
For 2022, the Chevy Corvette will be much based on the C6 Grand Sport model. The new model will feature most of the aerodynamic kit which is also available on the Chevy’s high-performance sports car. Further, thanks to its specific front fender inserts as well as custom wheel design, the new ride stands out among the crowds.
Like has been mentioned before, buyers can opt for the optional Heritage package which is available for the new Chevy. The package packs hash-mark fender graphics in one of six colors. Besides that, buyers can also get full-length stripes in the same colors. The colors available include Admiral Blue Metallic, and the new for 2022 Black Rose Metallic, Watkins Glen Gray Metallic, and Sterling Blue Metallic.
There is also the Grand Sport Collector Edition which will be launched later in this year. This edition exclusively features Watkins Glen Gray Metallic exterior with Tension Blue hash-mark graphics, satin black full-length stripes, and black wheels.
Similar to its exterior, the interior of the 2022 Chevy Corvette also is based on the Z06’s. Compared to the standard Corvette, for 2022, the model features some distinctive features. Those include more high-quality materials, magnesium seat frame structures, extra carbon-fiber inserts, and a flat-bottom steering wheel. Further, the cabin is probably featured with either the GT or Competition sport seats.
For buyers who opt for the Heritage package, the interior will get brushed aluminum trim with hash-marks. The Grand Sport Collector Edition is also available with a Tension Blue full leather and suede interior. Further, this edition also packs the original Grand Spot race car embossed in the headrests.
Under the Hood
Under the hood, the new ride is powered by the same LT1 as that of the standard model. The drivetrain is capable of producing 460 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. The transmission options are the seven-speed manual with active rev match and an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters.
As for the performance data of the 2022 Chevy Corvette, the automaker has not released the details. Even so, it is predicted that the new model is less than one second slower than the previous Corvette ZR1.
